Rhoda

This is a doll that was purchased at Dollar General about 3 1/2 years ago.  It looks amazingly similar to a co-worker and it is used in pranks every once in a while.  This is a picture of her sleeping and if the real "Rhoda" knew this was on here, she would flip out!

Flying Monkey Experiment

Today a plastic toy monkey was launched into the skies over San Jacinto County, TX.  North northwest was the initial direction of travel although we do not know his destination, unless of course someone dials the phone number written on him.  I have eventual plans of launching a small flashlight into the night sky to see how far and long it would be visible.

Tasty Trio!

You cannot beat the taste and texture of a fresh "Kitty Burger".  A local restaurant makes them daily with these amazing onion rings.  It's kinda like picking out your own lobster in a seafood restaurant.  It melts in your Meowwwwth.

Police Blotter

I assisted an acquaintance with a police report today regarding theft of property.  Unfortunately there were no witnesses to the alleged theft.  The only things that were taken were some canned beverages and vegetables valued at less than $50.00.  As a result, the only option was to provide a statement to the deputy to be filed with the county.  The deputy was actually quite friendly and desired to be as helpful as possible.  The only thing interesting about this is that the deputy had no idea that I took these photos.  I was able to not break the law without him noticing.

Well, Come On In!

These photos were taken at the CZ Express/Subway in Shepherd, TX.  As you can see, someone decided to drive into the store after filling up with gasoline.  This happened on Friday July 16th, but the car was still there today and the store was open for business???

Wunderbar Supper!

On Saturday July 17th, 2010 my parents treated us to a unique and delicious meal at the Bavarian Bakery and Cafe in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Trenton and I had the Sauerbraten, while Mom, Dad, Lisa, and Grant had the more traditional Wiener Schnitzel.

East Texas Wooley Booger

Hughes Catfish Inn

Several co-workers and I went to Hughes Catfish Inn for lunch on Wednesday July 14, 2010.  I'm not much of a hunter, but it was cool to see so many deer and other animal heads in one place.

Still Growing

These youngsters are a little over 2 1/2 months old.  They moved in with the other 3 about 2 weeks ago.  When they hear the back door open, they come piling in the corner of the pen begging like dogs for a scrap.

The Monument Inn Restaurant

Just across the ship channel via the Lynchburg Ferry, there is a hotel and restaurant.  This is the view that we had during our meal.  We have dined there several times and have enjoyed it each time.  The San Jacinto Monument and Battleship Texas are just a bit further up the road from the hotel.  Please ignore the glare.

I Do Not Know.

What is this?  I visited a man at his home in rural Liberty County, Texas.  This is hanging over the front of his carport.  The man explained that his grandson brought it home and wanted to hang it right where it is.  He doesn't know what it is either.  If you have any suggestions, please advise.

The Unveiling

This is me.  I have tried to conceal my identity for some time, but I felt it necessary to finally reveal my face.  Please forgive me if you are disappointed.

The Power of the Lord is not Electricity

Last Sunday, our church service was delayed briefly by a power outage due to an automobile accident in the area.  Pastor proceeded to conduct the entire service with a battery powered bullhorn, battery powered lantern, and later a battery powered karaoke machine (PA).  Turned out to be a wonderful service and if I remember correctly 5 people gave their hearts to Jesus.  Amen!

Fresh Produce

During a recent trip we stopped at this produce stand outside of Jacksonville, TX.  That's all I have to say about that.

A Rare Treat

I spotted this beautiful white Ford Granada in a parking lot recently.  The driver was not certain of the year of his own vehicle, but he thinks its a 1978.  If you scroll down and look at the left side of the blog, you can see what a Granada looks like when you turn it into a racecar.  My Grandfather had one that was red and if I remember correctly it had a white vinyl top.

Hotel San Antonio

I recently stayed in San Antonio on a buisness trip.  Quite boring.  I snapped these photos of the furniture in the hallway from the hallway and peep-hole.  I felt it was very important to provide 2 perspectives.
