Today is Arbor Day 2010. Yesterday I helped purchase a tree that we planted today at my place of employment in honor of this botanical celebration. While at the garden center yesterday, I picked one for our house too. This is a Flowering Bradford Pear tree. It's gonna be cool in about 5 years. I hope all of you "Green" people enjoy. Please note the flower beds around the cedar trees in the background, those are Garfield's toilets and not part of our property.

Beaumont, Texas
I was recently asked to sponsor breakfast for a meeting of professionals in Beaumont, TX. While waiting for everyone to show up for the meeting this morning, I snapped these beautiful photos of the downtown area from the 20th floor.

Visit to the Cemetery
On the afternoon of Saturday April 24, 2010, Lisa and I visited Roselawn Cemetery in Ft. Worth, TX. I wanted to show her the headstone of the infamous Lee Harvey Oswald. Below are pictures of Oswald's marker as well as the marker belonging to Nick Beef. Upon doing some research, I discovered on another website that a comedian with the stage name Nick Beef bought the plot next to Oswald's. Apparently the cemetery office won't tell people where Oswald's grave is located, so this guy tells or told his audiences to ask to see Nick Beef's grave. This would take you right next to Oswald's, but the website says the cemetery won't tell you where Nick Beef's is anymore either.

Russell Stover Factory Store
Today on the way home from visiting my parents, we stopped at the Russell Stover factory outlet store in Corsicana, TX. Enjoy the following pictures:
I asked the cashier, Vesta, if I could get a picture, but she declined so I took one anyway.

Burnin' Down the House
Lisa and I have driven past this house on numerous occasions during our weekend travels. I asked a local what was up with the house with giant flames coming out of the windows. She claimed that is was a project completed by an art student that lives in the area. We find it very interesting. It is located on US 59N in the Seven Oaks area north of Livingston, TX.

Our Chickens
Below are some pictures of our chickens. The reddish brown hens have a serious appetite and they are not easy to live with according to the white hen. The rooster is quite happy as he likes having the ladies around.

New Invention
This thermometer was created by a co-worker of mine named Ron. As you can see there are no degree markings. How does it work? Ron says that if you look at it long enough you will be able to determine whether it is hot or cold outside.

Poppin' Robin
This van was acquired from a church several years ago, the church's name was sanded off and became the racing hauler. All of the tools, jacks, fuel, and tires are hauled in this van to the race track on Saturday nights. The decals were acquired by contacting the various companies via email and requesting them. The most amazing feature of this vehicle is the dual exhaust with glass-packs that will backfire on command. One night not long ago, we had 3 law enforcement agencies trying to locate reports of gun-fire as we drove around "blasting" folks. We were able to elude the cops, sort of...
